We had nine people walk the Prayer Labyrinth.
There was a very special atmosphere of fellowship and silent prayer.
There was plenty of time to reflect and pray
during this journey of exploration.
The labyrinth is one of the oldest contemplative
and transformational tools known to humankind, having been used
for centuries for prayer, ritual, initiation, and spiritual growth.
Right: Pebbles
dropped in a bowl signify dropping your problems into the lap of
God
The path that took us to the centre became
a metaphor for our own spiritual journey.
The labyrinth journey took us through 11 contemplative
stages:
Inward Journey
Noise and interference
Letting Go
Hurts
Distractions
Holy Space
Outward journey
Self
The Planet
Others
Impressions
Right: Footprints in sand. What impression
will your being here leave?
What did Rev. Tony
have to say about it?
"Horton – the church became a
labyrinth, with stations for reflection as we travelled ‘in’
and ‘out’ – the stillness was almost palpable
– time became immaterial....."
