Let me tell you what the Monday Group is all about.

It was started by just a few of us in the early 70’s as Young Wives, which we were then! Time, circumstances and people moved on and we established ourselves as part of Mumbles Methodist Church in the early 80’s.
Gradually it became plain that we were not ‘Young’ wives any longer!! and we wanted to welcome women who were perhaps unmarried, widowed, divorced or of other denominations. So it was then that ‘The Monday Group’ gradually evolved, meeting fortnightly in each other’s homes.

What do we do? Well we have great fellowship with each other including, of course, tea /coffee and biscuits! We start each evening with a short devotional, perhaps a prayer, or a relevant reading appropriate to the evening topic. Visiting speakers are invited to share a vast variety of subjects from devotional, music with slides, holidays both good and horrendous! Our own members are wonderfully diverse and also share devotional and fun subjects.

We fund raise for a variety of causes by coffee mornings, cream teas, nearly new sales and give our full support to all the activities in the Church. We, along with the Church members, recently sent £3250 for The Send A Cow Project.
We are inevitably getting a little older ie: The Bus Pass stage for some of us! Memories are becoming a bit dodgy, consequently when we forget a name (frequently!) we say ‘Darling’ instead and someone a bit brighter will fill in the gap!!

We love having new members, and apart from having an annual sub: of currently £5 p.a. and £1. weekly it does not break the bank.

There are programmes of events and venues at the front desk in Mumbles Methodist. You will always be welcome. We may even get too numerous for private homes and have to move into the Meeting Room ….who knows??
